Abney Court is built within the beautiful grounds of Abney Hall in Cheadle. Even though the care home is a state-of-the-art new building, it has been designed to reflect the character of the local area. The home's lounges, dining rooms and the coffee shop are named after local landmarks and historical figures, and vintage photos around the home enable residents who have lived locally to recall memories, people and places from the past.
Abney Court is built over three floors, with each floor divided into smaller suites or units. Each suite has its own comfortable lounge, bistro-style dining room and en-suite bedrooms. It's a design with proven appeal for residents who are living with dementia, who prefer less hustle and bustle and like to see the same familiar faces.
Every aspect of our new care home has been designed to enable residents to continue enjoying a superb quality of life. On the ground floor the care home has a stylish coffee shop, where residents are able to enjoy a fancy coffee and cake while chatting to visitors. They can watch the latest films or classic movies in our fully-equipped cinema. What's more, our in-house hair and beauty salon means residents can enjoy pamper sessions whenever they wish. A ground floor garden room is a lovely place to sit and enjoy views of our gardens even on rainy days.
The gardens at Abney Court are a real drawcard of the care home. The brick walls of Abney Hall's grounds provide a charming and secluded backdrop, and the gardens are beautifully landscaped and planted with a range of shrubs, flowers and trees, including plants chosen for their sensory properties. All the outside spaces are fully accessible to wheelchair users, have plenty of different seating areas and are secure, so residents living with dementia are able to stroll independently around the gardens. Green fingered residents are also very welcome to help out doing any light gardening jobs.
